Mei Li Wah Bakery

I usually don’t enjoy waking up early on a weekend for dim sum. That is why I never have any dim sum reviews. However, this was on New Years day waking up after a ‘hangover’ and super hungry. Couple of us decided to venture into Chinatown for some dim sum.
This is not your conventional dim sum with the push cart ladies. Afterall, it’s a bakery and not restaurant.
The buns were quite tasty and filled with flavored meats. The zongzi, sticky rice wrapped in leaves, was perfect size for a single person but if you are not eating alone then make sure you order up a few.

Rice crepes is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. Their rice crepes were alright, we only ordered the dry shrimp one. I think the soy sauce needs more flavoring.
Finally there’s these little fried shrimp salad. It might be a little overwhelming to eat such heavily fried stuff in the morning. But since I’m Chinese, its perfectly fine for me. They were very crunchy on the outside and had fruits and veggies on the inside. You get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables in one shot! j/k
Overall the price is very reasonable and comparable to any dim sum restaurant. The AAL working there that morning sure was not happy. New Years Day 9AM and you have a shift, I wouldn’t blame her. But whatever, its the food that matters.
